Fitness-For-Duty Evaluations
Police agencies are occasionally faced with an officer who is experiencing emotional distress or behaving in a manner that calls into question their judgment or fitness to perform the sensitive duties involved with public safety. For example, an officer may be the focus of increased citizen or colleague complaints, ongoing supervisory problems, or other behaviors for which the officer’s mental health is called into question. At the request of a police agency, I will complete a comprehensive fitness-for-duty evaluation that assesses all areas of psychological functioning with the goal of determining whether the officer is fit to continue regular duty or whether certain restrictions and/or interventions are warranted.
